‘The sun in her hand went black’ – Stories, poems and music for Passiontide
The very good news is that the Passiontide Christian Aid evening at St Mary’s, Handbridge, on March 24 at 7.30pm is able to go ahead both in the church, with 110 socially distanced seats, and also online.
Trevor Dennis will read seven of his published stories or poems, while Michael and Sarah will perform five pieces of music. In Trevor’s pieces we will hear what Pilate has to say, the real Pilate of historical record, rather than the sanitised figure we find in the Gospels; we will hear about ‘the other women’ who were at the cross. We will explore the darkness of men’s fear, the grief of women, and above all the nature of the Crucified God. If people wish to book for the church they will need to email Trevor on firstname.lastname@example.org, including their phone number, the number of seats they would like, and whether those people are able to sit together. Alternatively ring him on 01244 638441.
