Change of Weather

by Poet in Residence, Julia McGuinness

How does it dissipate,
black brooding cloud, bodied with tears
that swallows hope so you slump
within the cell of yourself?

A rise in temperature, change of air,
One who kneels by your aloneness.
Wordless warmth, whose breath shifts sky,
wisps cloud edges, midnight to magenta,
royal blue inking towards dawn.

Shroud of sorrow softens as quiet light
soothes blood drops to tear drops,
in a scatter of stars, and ground
beneath Him turns gold.
