Charles Kingsley Exhibition in the Cathedral Library

Charles Kingsley: Christian Socialist and Natural Historian. To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) and the 150th anniversary of his appointment as a Residentiary Canon at Chester Cathedral in 1869, the Chester Cathedral Library has mounted an exhibition about his several contributions to national and local debates. The curator of the exhibition will give short presentations about the exhibition at 10.30am, 11.30am, 2pm and 3pm.

Limited capacity of 40 persons for each time.

The exhibition is Free of charge.

The Cathedral Library is accessible from Abbey Square; it is in the south-east corner of the square, though an iron gate and up some stairs.  Unfortunately, the library is not accessible by wheelchair.

This exhibition is presented as part of Chester Heritage Festival, which takes place across the city between Friday 21 and Saturday 29 June 2019.  For further details about the festival, click here.
