A hybrid dance theatre work created by choreographer Bettina Carpi and composer Gary Lloyd, featuring a specially commissioned poetry cycle by the Costa Award winner Mary Talbot. The piece is performed by a trio of dancers and a live string quintet drawn from the best orchestras in the North West.

When you Light a Candle… is a celebration of nature and its resilience and a call to awareness about the dangerous state of our climate, our habitat, our planet.

The piece begins with a curtain-raiser made with music, dance and drama students from the University of Chester.
