Extinction is Forever

March 1

Extinction is Forever is the latest exhibition by conservation artist Jacha Potgieter.

Jacha has created this exhibition to highlight climate change and the impact it is having on the natural world.

Extinction is Forever features nine life sized sculptures of endangered species, each one is made from materials such as plastic or cardboard that would otherwise have been thrown away.

Each piece comes with a sad tale of the effect climate change is having on that particular species.

With this exhibition Jacha, “hopes to wake people up to what we are doing to the world with single use plastic, pollution, the illegal wildlife trade, global warming and the affect it is having on nature and animals. If we all stand together, we can make a difference”

The illegal wildlife trade makes up a significant proportion of the global animal trade.

It includes wild animals who are used to perform for visitors/tourists, sold as pets, poached as “ingredients” for traditional medicine and killed to be made into trophies for hunters or souvenirs for tourists.
