Lent challenges Christians to deepen their spiritual life, often through taking on a particular discipline or practise. Our Lent poetry meetings are an invitation to use the season to explore the Christian faith from a poetic angle. Over five weeks we will read, respond and reflect on poems that express aspects of the Christian journey: prayer, lamentation and praise; brokenness and hope; discipleship, work and rest, and the Lenten season itself. We will look at poets both past and contemporary. Both long-standing lovers of poetry and those coming to it afresh are equally welcome.
Pre-booking is required, as numbers are limited.
In the Cathedral Library.
The discussion group commences on Tuesday 8 March 2022, and concludes on Tuesday 5 April 2022.
From 11am – 12 noon each week.
