Chester Music Society Choir presents The Music of Vaughan Williams
Vaughan Williams is one of the best-known British composers, and this concert will showcase some his best-loved works. Dona nobis pacem is a moving plea for peace, written in 1936 but as relevant today as ever. In the Fen Country draws an orchestral portrait of the wide open spaces of East Anglia. This is also the first performance in the North West of the rarely heard The Garden of Proserpine, RVW’s first large scale work for soprano soloist, chorus and orchestra.
Come and join us for what promises to be a lovely spring evening of inspiring music!
