Textile 21 are a nine-strong contemporary textile group and have staged successful exhibitions throughout the north west of England. Their aim is to produce and exhibit high quality, innovative work of a professional standard.
‘Odyssey’ was inspired by Chester Cathedral’s 2020 theme of ‘Journeys.’
The artists have interpreted the theme in a number of different ways and you are invited to glimpse the inspiration behind each piece. Some works are based on personal experience, and involve revisiting childhood memories whilst others are based on symbolism and different cultures. The artists hope that the viewers will immerse themselves in the narrative nature of the works and reflect on personal journeys and universal themes.
