A Service of Remembrance with The King’s School | 3.30pm
SATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER
A Concert of Remembrance | 7.30pm
Philip Rushforth and John Lubbock, conductors
To commemorate the end of World War I, the Choir of Chester Cathedral are joined by the world-famous orchestra of St John’s, Smith Square, in a performance of the eternally popular Requiem by Gabriel Fauré.  Other music will include popular works by Brahms, Stanford and Parry.  The concert will also include poetry of the First World War read by Nick Fry

SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER
Battle’s Over – Sleep in peace, now the battle’s over | 6am
At 6am – the exact time the Armistice was signed on 11 November, 1918 – around 1,000 pipers around the world will fill the air with a rendition of Pipe William Robb’s evergreen retreat march, ‘When the Battle’s O’er.’  At Chester Cathedral, a lone piper will pipe from the war memorial.

With an Act of Remembrance at 11am at the War Memorial.
SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER
Service of Readings and Music to mark the end of the Centenary Commemorations of World War I | 6.30pm
The service includes bible readings and poetry by Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Geoffrey Studdert Kennedy, and ends with a Vigil of Light and Hope.
