We were delighted to open Chester Cathedral on Monday 6 July, having been closed since 30 March. Everything is in order, ready for us to welcome visitors and worshippers back into the Cathedral to discover and encounter faith. We are open in-line with UK Government guidance on indoor attractions – and are pleased to have been awarded the Visit England ‘Good To Go’ industry standard, confirming that we have all the necessary processes in place to reopen safely. You may view our ‘Good To Go’ Certificate here.
The Gift Shop and the Refectory Café have also both now re-opened.
The Cathedral is currently open Monday to Saturday from 11am – for our Christmas Tree Festival. An entry charge of £2.50 per adult applies (children remain free). On Sundays, we are open for worship at 10am; the Christmas Tree Festival is open from 12.30pm.
We’re determined to make your visit safe and enjoyable. All of our staff are wearing face masks and are sanitising, and washing their hands regularly. In accordance with the law, we ask that you wear your facemask within the Cathedral too. They are here to support you in prayer, and are here to ensure the following measures are observed.
