Be a part of the Christmas Tree Festival 2024

Chester Cathedral is hosting its popular Christmas Tree Festival again this year and we would love you to be involved!

What is it?

From the end of November, Chester Cathedral will be aglow with more than 80 majestic Christmas trees. Our festival will allow visitors to escape from the hustle and bustle of the festive period and lose themselves in our astonishing tree lined winter walkways.

When is it?

The Christmas Tree Festival will run from the Friday 22 November 2024 until Sunday 5 January 2025. The festival will have an official Christmas Tree light switch on, taking place on Thursday 21 November which will include the light switch on, short carol concert and a performance from a local group (tbc).

Our trees will arrive in late November, and you will have four days to decorate your tree between 17 and 20 November.

How can to get involved

We are offering local schools and businesses the opportunity to decorate a tree based on the this years theme, which will Discovering Christmas - what Christmas mean to you. You can use decorations of your choice and are welcome to be as creative and imaginative as you like!

How much does it cost?

The cost of sponsoring a tree is £90 for schools, £150 charity rate, and from £350 for companies and individuals.

What is included for the price?

We will provide:
A real Christmas tree and standard white fairy lights
A sign next to your tree with your school or company logo
Two tickets to the Christmas Tree Festival Launch, with the option to purchase more at £10.00 per adult and £5.00 per child.

Why get involved?

The festival is a community-driven event with local contributors – your participation will demonstrate a commitment to supporting the city and the local business economy.

Chester Cathedral welcomes more than 50,000 visitors throughout the month of December. Your participation will serve as an effective profile-raising exercise and will help you to engage with a live local audience.
