Assistant Retail Manager

£26,000 per annum

Chester Cathedral is hiring an Assistant Retail Manager who will support the Retail Manager in delivering an exceptional retail operation within the historic buildings of Chester Cathedral, by managing the day-to-day running of the shop and online store. This includes supervising staff and volunteers, creating and maintaining rotas, ensuring high standards of customer service and presentation, adapting to seasonal audiences, and supporting stock and sales performance.

Volunteer Development Officer

£27,000 per annum

Chester Cathedral is supported by a team of over 250 volunteers, who play an essential role in using their extensive skills and experience to keep the cathedral open. This role will work with the HR and Training Officer and the wider team to provide a satisfying and rewarding experience for our volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and are adequately supported, and using their skills appropriately.

Appointment of Quantity Surveyor for Project Revive

Chester Cathedral is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to undertake post-contract cost management for work within the scope of Project Revive (see attached plans), ensuring that works instructed by Chester Cathedral are being managed within the budgets set for this project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The QS will be responsible for reporting to the Project Management on any predicted deviation from the budget, e.g. inflation and any requests for use of contingency.
