The Friends of Chester Cathedral invite you to an evening with sandwiches and cake in Café 1092 in the Refectory with a presentation from Trevor Dennis about the Creation Window.

Did you know the Creation Window in Café 1092, which was designed by artist Rosalind Grimshaw, and was inspired by the first book of the Bible (Genesis 1)? Trevor Dennis is an Old Testament scholar with a passion for Genesis 1 and equally passionate about the Creation Window (one of Trevor's favourite treasures of the Cathedral). When the window was commissioned and installed, Trevor Dennis was Vice Dean and remembers his interactions with Rosalind Grimshaw. He recalls being amazed that Grimshaw Parkinson's disease was a barrier for her creativity. Parkinson's is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement - yet the artist was still able to not only draw her design but but the glass required to bring it to life.

Enjoy tea and cake while learning all about this incredible and inspiring window from someone who was around for its creation.
