Luxmuralis FAQs
Is this the same event I saw in February 2024?
No, this is a completely different event created by Luxmuralis, with different visuals in each space of the Cathedral.
What's more, learning from the 2024 event, we have changed the route through the building and added new areas to create a different experience.
Where to go?
To ensure that everyone can view the light show comfortably, we are running a staggered entry system throughout the evening. The time slot on your ticket refers to the window during which you will be allowed to enter the building – not how long you will spend inside. Whether you are first in line or at the end of the queue, it won’t impact on the time you have to enjoy the experience.
Entry into the Cathedral is different than it was for 2024s show. Entry will be via the South West Porch in the Memorial Garden.
When you arrive at the Memorial Garden you will see two/three queuing areas. Please ensure that you have your tickets to hand and ready to present to one of our event stewards who will then direct you as to which queue to join.
These areas will be located outside so you might want to bring an umbrella and an extra layer or two if the weather is unsettled. When it is time for you to go inside, a member of our stewarding team will guide you to the Cathedral.
Do I have to enter at the exact time on my ticket?
We suggest you arrive shortly before your allocated slot, and we aim to admit everyone within fifteen minutes from their allocated slot. Note that we have sold reduced numbers this year for each slot.
Will security measures be in place?
Yes, bag checks will be done by approved security personnel. To avoid delays, please bring only a small bag with you.
How long does the event last?
You will enter the event through the South West Porch, directly into the Nave. Moving through the event will take approximately 40 minutes, but you may take as long as you wish.
Lost your tickets?
If you’ve misplaced your tickets, please contact our Box Office before the day of your visit. If you have misplaced your tickets on the night, please speak to a member of our team in the South West Porch.
Buying tickets on the night?
Subject to availability, tickets will be available to purchase. Please visit our website using your smart phone to purchase.
Accessibility
The Light Show is an immersive sensory experience. There will be flashing lights throughout and music will occasionally be loud, we recommend bringing your own ear defenders if required.
The building will be in darkness, except for projected light displays which will help guide visitors along the route. Where the route has a step, ramps will be installed. Due to the nature of the building, the floor can be uneven in places and the space will be dark, so please take extra care. Generally, our spaces will be clear, though there will be some places to sit if needed, and you are welcome to sit on the Cathedral floor.
If you or a member of your group has any accessibility requirements, please contact our events team directly on [email protected] beforehand so we can ensure that you have the best experience possible on the evening.
Can I take photographs during my visit?
Yes, filming and photography for personal usage is permitted throughout the experience but we kindly ask that you do not use flash at any point. If you’re taking images to share on social media don’t forget to tag us!

Is there food and drink available?
Café 1092 in the Refectory will be open during the event. The route through the Cathedral will conclude in the Cloister, at the entrance to the café. If you're local, be sure to collect one of our Café 1092 loyalty cards too.
Before you leave, and even if you don't pull up a seat in the café, make sure that you complete a peace dove for an installation coming to us in May 2025. Learn more on the evening.
