Dean Tim and wife Jen's (also Cathedral Education Officer) time away from the Cathedral in the Solomon Isles continues. Here's today's blog.

Friday 21 June

So, it’s Midsummers Day in the UK, but no such thing here. All year round it is similar. Hot and humid, sunshine and occasional torrential rain. Last night, when we were due to walk out to some new-found Australian friends - who have Wi-Fi we can use - inevitably there was torrential rain. We made it, skipping between the frogs who didn’t seem to appreciate what a treacherous place the footpath can be when you are only three inches high. Today is hot and steamy. We are hoping our little walk up the hill after sunset (which occurs at 6pm every day, all year round) will be a little fresher. Dave and Nick are both priests from Australia who are teaching at the Bishop Patterson Theological College. Yesterday their College waved goodbye to its Dean of Studies who was whisked off in a motorcade to take up the post as the islands’ new Governor General. Here today, it has been a good day chatting with novices, brothers and teachers, including the Head Brother. MBH have been kind and generous hosts.

It costs £6,000 a day to care for our historic building and to maintain our worship and music tradition. We rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to power our work.
